How I Work

For editorial development on blogs and short pieces of copy (Under 1000 words):

My quickie editorial process typically involves two rounds of revisions.

> In round 1, I’ll review your draft and offer developmental commentary, then I’ll send it back for discussion/approval/updates.

> In round 2, I’ll develop and polish it per (y)our mutual preferences.

*We will agree on a project-based fee up front and you will be billed with the deliverable.

For editorial development of manuscripts and long form copy:

Initial review

> Initial read through & manuscript evaluation (some people do this as a completely separate service to see if a piece is viable)

> Discuss vision, tone, target audience, publication goals, etc. (why)

> We have a quick discovery call to establish whether we’re a good fit and what our framework will be going forward into phase 1

*Contract solidification and invoice for review fee

Developmental Phase 1

Call 1: (Discovery) basic priorities, framework, vision, roadmapping

> Review and notes for developmental and structural edits

> Recommendations will be in comments in track changes as well as summarized in email

Developmental Phase 2

> Call 2: discuss potential edits / re-writes; establish timeframe and strategy going forward

> Recommendations will be in comments in track changes as well as summarized in email

Copy editing

> 1-2 rounds digitally using track changes

> 1-2 rounds on final manuscript (galleys)
